June 10th

Another day in Lund and we catch a water taxi to Savary Island. The island is only 8km long by 1km wide and is said to be without a doubt the best beach in the entire chain of the Gulf islands. The beach goes around the whole island except for one rocky tip, it has a current year round population of about 90 people but in the summer can reach 3000. As we come over the crest of a hill Tammie catches site of an eagle and out comes my big lens. With a few great shots and a little time on the beach we grab the water taxi back and have a nice dinner in the Lund Motel. Fish for myself and Tammie get a fish chowder, which by the way was great, and a oyster burger.
