July 2nd

Onto Anaconda today, after a brief stop in Missoula at the local laundromat. Our plan is to take a restored 1953 steam train through the hills, which was a popular route during the gold rush. Unfortunately the guidebook is already outdated, as the train stopped running sometime last year - and we didn't find this out until spending some time scouring the town for the train. Anaconda has lost it's lustre of the gold rush years, and is no longer a thriving community.

We make our way to the Lost Creek campground, which is 8 miles off the main road. The setting is beautiful, and we are alone in our camping area. I am in need of a shower, and since we are in a primitive campground, the only option is the stream running beside our campsite. It's a cold mountain stream - and then it starts to rain to make it all that much colder. It's more than a refreshing bath!! Sorry ladies, no pictures :)
